Today's franchise concept for Golden Rule first opened in Calera, Al. in 2002. This restaurant has served as the benchmark for the future of Golden Rule. Following this unit, Tuscaloosa, Academy Dr., Bessemer, Pell City, Auburn, and Phenix City, Al opened in 2003. In 2004, The Original Golden Rule Barbeque and Grill will cross state lines and open it's first Georgia location near Columbus, Ga.
